Laparoscopic Surgery is a surgical technique that uses smaller incisions to perform the same surgery. The surgery is performed using a laparoscope that provides an image, similar to a camcorder. The surgery is actually performed by watching a television monitor. Laparoscopic surgeries have been around for more than 20 years, but in the last 15 years have become mainstay treatments for certain operations.

There are advantages to Laparoscopic Surgery in that it is minimally invasive. That means that less trauma is done to you, as the patient, and you will be able to return to work and your normal activities sooner than with the traditional open surgery.

Dr. Grover has special interests in laparoscopic surgery. He has extra training in advanced laparscopic techniques so that more of his patients can benefit from the less invasive surgical techniques that are available, without having to go to a larger facility for that surgery.
