Surgery of the Head and Neck includes the Scalp, Thyroid and Parathyroid glands, Lymph Nodes in the neck, and other unknown masses in the neck.

Thyroid glands may need excision for cancer or other reasons. Sometimes, it is to assure that there is no cancer within a swollen gland.

Most of the head and neck surgeries require general anesthesia. Some also require a one night stay in the hospital after the surgery.
